Small Projects, Big Ideas
Versatility and adaptability are engrained within my work. From a client’s industry, to the visual identity, and the scale of a project. In this case, smaller projects are approached with the same creative process and care. Enjoy this compilation of Finick’s smaller, yet noteworthy, projects.
Created in a post-Covid environment, Your Local Taupo is for locals, by locals, and is a way for businesses to give back to their customers with sweet deals while buyers get to support local—you could say it’s a win-win. A relaxed, approachable, and easy to follow aesthetic was called for, brought to life through organic type and earthy textures, with the use of bold colour to spark brand recognition—imperative for the launch campaign.
Alimento Eatery were in need of a visual overhaul to their menus and exterior signage as their existing collateral was proving difficult to read and on a paper stock that didn't withstand the effects of time (or coffee spills). Earthy kraft textures were used and combined with crisp layouts and hand-drawn elements to enhance and elevate their existing branding.
Sometimes, the most meaningful projects come in small packages. This client wanted a stamp that featured her favourite flowers (lily, frangipani, and ghost lavender), along with the initial of her last name. The result was a wonderfully intricate design, perfect for use on bespoke stationery and to personalise books.
With the client residing on the edges of the Waikato River, this project was a particularly meaningful one for this nature-loving digital marketing specialist. Korio means ‘Swift River’ in te reo Maori, and inspired both the logo and colour palette.
No project is too big or small, and each is taken on with the same level of dedication and giddy excitement as the next. Whether it’s a budget or brief that determines the project scope, sticking with these (and adapting accordingly) ensures the possible outcomes are achieved—for you, for me, and your target audience.
(Psst. Sometimes projects are just for fun, and the target market could just be you. That’s totally okay, too).
